Tangle in the Dark

Friday, June 14th

5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Cost: $40.00 members/$45.00 non members

There is an additional $7 supply fee paid to the instructor on the day of the class. Supplies are yours to take home.

Come learn how to take your current tangles and new ones into the dark! In this class we will learn how to use white ink and charcoal to tangle and shade on black tiles. Black tile tangling offers new explorations and experiences with familiar tangles.

The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Through the Zentangle method of drawing you can relax, focus, expand your imagination, trust your creativity, increase your creativity, and perhaps most importantly….have fun!

The patterns in Zentangle are called tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These simple shapes are the "Elemental Strokes" in all Zentangle art. These patterns are drawn on small pieces of paper called "tiles." We call them tiles because you can assemble them into mosaics.

Supply provided with a $7.00 supply fee include black tile Zentangle kit.

Level: Beginner

Taught by Misty Johnson, Certified Zentangle Instructor

Watercolor Workshop
Watercolor Transparency and Leaving the White

Open for age 11 to Adult

Wednesday, July 17

9:00 am to Noon

Cost: $10.00 for members/$15.00 for nonmembers

There is an additional $5.00 supply fee paid to the instructor at the first class.

While watercolor paint sets often include the color white, it is not really needed. The white paper allows white tinted colors to be made from the other paint colors. When white is needed for a touch up such as the reflected light in an eye, the white watercolor paint isn't up to the job of covering up other colors. Learn some different ways to let the light come through.

Supplies provided: Paper plus brushes, paint and tape paint, boards. Water cups and other tools needed for painting in class plus a mat for a finished painting ($5.00 supply fee paid to the instructor at the class).
