Each year the Rutherford County Art Guild provides a $1000.00 scholarship to a Rutherford County Art Student who is planning to continue their education in fine arts or art education,.

About Linda McGregor
Linda McGregor was a founding member of the Rutherford County Visual Art Guild. She was a watercolor instructor for many, many years. Along with watercolor she enjoyed creating pottery pieces and was a student at the Good Earth Pottery Studio owned by Kiowa Cilone. Linda was a valuable member of the VAC. This scholarship has been created in her memory and love of art to help inspire young people to continue in the arts furthering their education in fine arts or art education.

About the Scholarship
The Linda McGregor $1,000 art scholarship is intended for a student who resides in Rutherford County who will pursue a degree in art or art education at the college level. The scholarship is restricted to the visual arts and does not fund theater, dance, or literary arts.
Entries will be judged on merit rather than on need. Entries should show both technical skill and originality of vision. Entries based on photographs not taken by the artist are discouraged.
Applications are due June 15, 2023 before 3 p.m. Decisions will be announced by June 30, 2023. Applications may be mailed to RCVAG, P.O. Box 2015, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or dropped off at the Visual Arts Center, 160 N. Main Street, Rutherfordton. Download and print out the application below.
