ART PARK EXHIBITS

Below are various projects available for sign-up for the Art Park. Images are given just as an example of the type of art
representative of the area.  Many of these are images protected by copyright and are used here merely for educational purposes
and reference. In addition to the  projects for the art history section, there are also projects available for the sculpture garden,
recycle center and health and fitness area. All projects are listed below with additional information on how to claim or sponsor.

All projects must be finished and delivered to the art park for installation no later than April 27, 2018.

Art History Exhibits

These projects are available for the art history timeline.
Each project must either fit inside of the protected case or be able to be displayed in the sculpture garden.

These projects accent the other sections of the park. If you are an artist and would like to volunteer to do one of these projects, just click on the project image and send us an email.

If you would like to sponsor a project, sponsorship costs are listed as they become available. Just click on an image and send us an email to reserve. We will also hold some classes to make other items in March and April.

Stone Age (30,000 b.c.–2500 b.c.) - Available

Categorized by cave painting, fertility goddesses, megalithic structures. Options to create artwork include: statues, rock paintings, stonehenge like structures. 

Mesopotamian (3500 b.c.–539 b.c.) - Available

Categorized by warrior art and narration in stone relief. Options to create artwork include: statues, stone relief.

Egyptian (3100 b.c.–30 b.c.) - Available

Categorized by art with an afterlife focus: pyramids, statues, ornate jewelry, tomb painting. Options to create artwork include: statues, jewelry, hieroglyphic paintings

Greek and Hellenistic (850 b.c.–31 b.c.) - Taken

Categorized by art with an afterlife focus: Greek idealism: balance, perfect proportions; architectural
orders (Doric, Ionic, Corinthian. Options to create artwork include: statues, paintings, vases, urns, pottery

Indian, Chinese, and Japanese (653 b.c.–a.d. 1900) - Available

Byzantine and Islamic (a.d. 476–a.d.1453) - Available

Middle Ages (500–1400) - Available

Renaissance (1400–1550) - Available

Categorized by art with an afterlife focus: rebirth of classical culture, nobility of man, mastery of illusionistic painting techniques, maximizing 'depth' in a picture. Options to create artwork include: elaborate paintings showing depth, subject matter and technique.

Baroque (1600–1750) - Available

Categorized by art with an afterlife focus: splendor and flourish for God; art as a weapon in the religious wars. Options to create artwork include: elaborate paintings showing depth, subject matter and technique.

Romanticism (1780–1850) - Available

Categorized by the triumph of imagination and individuality. Options to create artwork include: paintings showcasing technique of the period.

Realism (1848–1900) - Available

Categorized by celebrating working class and peasants; en plein air rustic painting. Options to create artwork include: paintings showcasing technique of the period.

Impressionism (1865–1885) - Available

Categorized by capturing fleeting effects of natural light. Options to create artwork include: paintings showcasing technique of the period.

Fauvism and Expressionism (1900–1935) - Available

Categorized by harsh colors and flat surfaces (Fauvism); emotion distorting
form. Options to create artwork include: paintings showcasing technique of the period.

Cubism (1905–1920) - Available

Categorized by new forms to express modern life. Options to create artwork include: paintings showcasing technique of the period.

Surrealism (1917–1950) - Taken

Categorized by ridiculous art; painting dreams and exploring the unconscious. Options to create artwork include: paintings showcasing technique of the period.

Abstract Expressionism (1940s–1950s) and Pop Art (1960s) - Taken

Categorized by post–World War II: pure abstraction and expression without form; popular art absorbs consumerism. Options to create artwork include: paintings showcasing technique of the period.

Postmodernism and Deconstructivism (1970– ) - Available

Categorized by art without a center and reworking and mixing past styles, opposed purity of form and technique. Options to create artwork include: paintings showcasing technique of the period.

Tree of Knowledge

This sculpture will be the centerpiece of the park and be used to display rotating exhibits throughout the year.  It will be made of different types of metal, all crafted by a local blacksmith.

Stone Art - Artist: Available Sponsorship: Available

Create a sculpture from stone that is an original.  It can represent the stone age in general or just use stone materials in a unique design.

Byzantine Mosaics - Artist(s): Available Sponsorship: Available $100 and up

This can be several smaller projects or one large one. 

Viking Art - Artist: Taken Sponsorship: Available

Original creation of an animal head that would have adorned a viking longship

A Tube Full of Flowers - Artist: Available Sponsorship: Available $250

This unique piece of art speak to exactly what the art park is all about.  Bringing art to life and combining it another element in a creative way. This particular picture is from a park in France and should serve as inspiration for similar creation. To find out more about this sculpture click here.

Colorful Bench - Artist(s): Available Sponsorship(s): Available

We have room for two of these colorful benches in the park. Use the attached pic as inspiration to creat your own version.

Colored Pencil Bench - Artist: Available Sponsorship: Available $TBD

Is this not perfect for an art park? We have room for one of these in the park. Cost will be determined once an artist is assigned.

Recycled Butterflies - Artist(s): Available Sponsorship: Available $50/each

What good is a park without butterflies, especially when they are made from metal that would otherwise be thrown away?

Recycle Lost Lids - Artist: Available Sponsorship: Available $100

How often do you throw away lids because you can't find the dish that goes with them?  Now we have a new use for those discarded lids. Create totem like sculptures from donated plastic lids.

Recycling is a Hoot - Artist(s): Available Sponsorship: Available $50/each

These owls will go perfect in our park to help us keep watch over the art.  You can do one or several owls. We have room for 10-15 of these cute little guys. 

Vintage Glass Totems - Artist(s): Available Sponsorship: Available $50/each

Use old vintage glass to create unique glass totems.

Recycle Play Cube - Artist: Available Sponsorship: Available $100

Create a playful and fun art piece from tires or other items that would benefit from reuse over a landfill

Garden Tool Animal Farm - Artist(s): Available Sponsorship(s): Available $50/each

Help us create a garden tool animal farm.  We all have them in our shed, give them new life and help create this interactive art exhibit. We are looking for 3-5 animals for our farm.

Yard Yahtzee - Artist: Available Sponsorship: Available $100

Just something fun for visitors to enjoy while in the park. Looking for one set of dice and 4 chalkboard score charts

Log Lift - Artist: Available Sponsorship: Available $250

Now can anyone think of something creative to make this exercise a fun and artistic addition to our park?  We look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Log Balance - Artist: Available Sponsorship: Available $TBD

Make strengthening your calves and bettering your balance fun and creative with this log balance exhibit.  The different colors coordinate with different challenges that make this exhibit new and exciting every time you do it.

Natural Exercise Stations - Artist(s): Available Sponsorship(s): Available $TBD

We want to create 3-5 exercise stations from natural materials with an artistic twist. Cost of sponsorship will be determined when an artist is assigned.

Herb Garden - Artist(s): Available Sponsorship(s): Available $250/each

Part of our health and fitness section, these structures are meant to showcase healthy eating habits and how to grow your own herbs and veggies at home.  We are looking for 2-3 of these to line the back of the section.
